Spectral Fusion EP
It’s been over a year since the last full release on Pure Sonik, the “Don’t Complain, Don’t Explain” EP. Now DJ T-1000 is back with a new four-tracker of Detroit (by way of Berlin) Techno recorded in a blast of creativity between March and April 2023.
The “Spectral Fusion” EP combines Alan Oldham’s trademark Pure Sonik minimalism with the jazz fusion and classic techno influences of his youth, while also experimenting with fresh sounds and textures.
“Rave On” is a minimal jacker that’s much in fashion right now as heard in the tracks of Truncate, Gene Richards Jr. and Uncertain.
The title of “Streamline” is a tribute to the 1978 jazz fusion album by Lenny White, a staple of AO’s high school years. A deep dive into Detroit Techno complete with futuristic pads, acid tweaks and a funky bassline, yet keeps to a modern tempo.
The title of “Blue Matter” is another tribute, this time to the 1986 jazz fusion classic by John Scofield. Inner City “Good Life” chords or fusion guitar? You decide as we embark on an uncharacteristically emotional piece by AO as suitable for a summertime coastline drive as for DJing.
We close it out with “The Luciferians,” a rare electro outing by the Maestro. Named for the invisible elite that meets in Davos, Switzerland each year to plan how to further subvert and enslave the West.
From “random” train derailments resulting in poisoning the land and local populations, to you only getting the sun two days a week, to drag queens twerking in front of grade school kids, the post-COVID elites are moving in plain sight. AO provides the soundtrack.
