Another T-1000 story from the old school.

One day in 1994 I was hanging around my new bachelor pad/studio when the phone rang...back when phones used to actually ring.

It was DJ ESP Woody McBride on the line from Minneapolis. He'd gotten a hold of my number and wanted to book me for one of his infamous Wall of Bass raves. I hadn't met Woody in person yet, but I'd heard of his shows and his "Bad Acid...No Such Thing" record on Drop Bass Network, was already in my collection.

The convo got around to my fee. He asked how much I wanted. I told him no money, but give me an EP for my label.

I went to Minneapolis and played for him, and sure as his word, he delivered me a master DAT in exchange. Now, when I said EP, I meant 3-4 tracks. But when I got the DAT, I saw that this maniac gave me six, plus one that we worked on together at his place when I was in town. Seven tracks in all. A whole album.

Didn't take long to get it down to Ron Murphy's place for plating, mastering, and release.
